Misal Pav is
a Maharashtrian Snack served with
Pav Buns.
Misal Pav recipe:

8 pairs of pav buns
Butter to toast Pav
1.5 cup Peas
2 Potatoes
2 Tomatoes
3 tbsp Chilli powder
Salt to taste
For masala:
1 cup Coconut grated
3 tbsp coriander seeds
1 tbsp cumin seeds
6 cloves
1 star anise
1 inch cinnamon
1
tbsp white sesame seeds
For seasoning
2 tsp mustard seeds
Pinch of hing(asafoetida)
1 tsp chili powder
10 cloves of garlic
For serving
One large onion finely chopped
1 cup mixture or namkin
1/4 cup chopped Coriander leaves
1 Lemon cut into small wedges
Method:
Cook Potatoes and Peas.
Fry coconut and other ingredients for
masala, grind them into paste.
In a pan, heat 2 tbsp of oil.
Add
mustard seeds and once they start spluttering add pinch of hing. Then add
crushed garlic. Fry garlic till it turns brown and then add chili powder.
. Then add chopped tomatoes and fry.
Add chopped and cooked potatoes and peas.
Mix coconut masala and stir well. Add salt and cook for around 10 minutes on low flame.
Pour sufficient water and bring it to boil. If needed add lemon juice.

Your Misal is ready.
For
serving .... Fill Misal in a cup, put some Mixture on top of it....
garnish with freshly chopped onion and coriander leaves.
Serve immediately With Toasted Pav Buns.
Note: You can use mixed sprouts in place of Peas.
