Raw Mango Rice /  Mangai Sadham



Raw Mango Rice /  Mangai Sadham / Kacha Aam Chawal

 

Basmati Rice :  1 cup

Til Oil : 2 tbsp

Mustard : 1 tsp

Bengal gram : 1 tsp

Curry leaves : Few

Hing Powder : 2 pinches

Raw Mango :  4 tbsp ( grated )

Green chilly :  2 ( chopped )

Turmeric Powder : 2 pinches.

Salt to taste.

Water : 2 cups

          Cook rice + water  + turmeric powder  in pressure cooker , using inner vessel for 2 whistles.

Peel the skin from Mango and grate it.

In Oil temper with mustard and when it starts popping add Bengal gram and fry till golden brown.  Add chilly + curry leaves + Hing and give a nice stir.  Add grated mangoes and mix nicely and remove from flame.  No need to cook mango.

Mix tempered ingredients +  Salt in hot rice and mix nicely. 
 
 

Let it stand for 15 mts.

Serve Tasty and Tangy Mango Rice with Papad / Morkuzhambu.  

If your mangoes are not sour , you can add few drops of lemon juice at the end.
