Karamani  Sundal



Black eye peas / Karamani  /  Lobia  Sundal

 

Karamani  :  1 cup

Red chilly : 2

Coconut : 2 tbsp ( grated )

Salt to taste

 Hing powder : 2 pinches

Oil : 2 tsp

Mustard : ½ tsp

Black gram dal / Urad dal : 1 tsp

Curry leaves : few

          Dry roast black eye peas lightly.

Soak in water for 4 hrs.

Cook for a whistle in a pressure pan with sufficient water .

After opening drain the water and keep it aside.

       In oil , temper with mustard seeds .  When it starts popping add black gram dal , red chilly and saute till black gram dal turns into golden brown in colour.  Add hing , curry leaves and give a nice stir. 

Add cooked black eye peas , salt .  Mix nicely.

Remove from flame and garnish with coconut .
 
 

Healthy , tasty and  easy to prepare evening snack is ready.

Can be done this sundal for Neivedhyam during Navrathri days.
