Pudhina Pulao/ Rice



Cilantro Rice /  Kothamalli Sadham




PUDHINA RICE using Pudhina thogayal


Basmati Rice :  1 cup ( soak for 15 minutes )

Pudhina leaves :  1 bunch ( chopped )
Coconut : 1 tbsp
Tamarind : 2 tamarind seeds size 
Red chilly : 3
Salt to taste.
Urad dal/ Black gram : 2 tsp
Hing : 2 pinches
Gingelly oil :  1 tbsp 

 Cook Basmati rice in sufficient water and drain the excess water . Keep it aside . 
Pudhina thogayal: 
In oil Sautee urad dal, red chilly , tamarind and hing . 
When urad dal turns light brown, add pudhina leaves, coconut and give a nice stir. 
switch off . Let it comes to room temperature. 
Grind the above ingredient with a pinch of sugar and salt as per taste, to a coarse paste without adding water. 
Mix this thogayal with cooked rice and garnish with coriander leaves. 
Tasty Pudhina rice is ready to serve. 









Serve with Raitha or any Sabji / Vegtable Curry.
