kalkandu / sugar candy Rice
Rice, thin
variety – 1/2 cup
Milk – 1/2 cup
Water – 2 cups
Kalkandu (coarsely powdered) – 1 cup
Ghee – 1/4 cup
cashews - 6
Raisins – 1 tbsp cup
Cardamom powder – ¼ tsp
Saffron – 4 threads ( soak in a tsp of hot milk )
Edible camphor – a pinch
Milk – 1/2 cup
Water – 2 cups
Kalkandu (coarsely powdered) – 1 cup
Ghee – 1/4 cup

Cardamom powder – ¼ tsp
Saffron – 4 threads ( soak in a tsp of hot milk )
Edible camphor – a pinch
In a pressure pan cook rice in water for 2 whistles .
Mash it lightly.
After opening add kalkandu powder, milk and ghee . Mix nicely without any lump.
Close the
lid and cook for one whistle.
Now after
opening add saffron, camphor , cardamom powder and mix nicely.
Garnish with ghee fried cashews and
raisins.
