7 Cup Cake


The Sweet , any one can easily remember its recipe is 7 cup cake….  From the name itself we got a clue , how much measurement of the ingredients we need.  It’s also very easy to prepare. 


Chick pea flour / Besan : 1 cup

Carrot : 1 cup ( grated )

Ghee :  1 cup ( melted )

Full cream milk : 1 cup

Sugar : 3 cups

           Keep all the ingredients ready. 

In a heavy bottom pan, Dry  roast chick pea flour till nice aroma comes.

Add half of the ghee, milk, sugar and carrot and cook in low flame .



Sugar will get melted and soon the syrup will start become thicker.

Keep stirring very frequently to avoid charring at the bottom.

Keep adding rest of the ghee gradually till you use all the ghee.

Check the wall of the vessel with sticky syrup 


Meanwhile keep ready a plate or tray greased with melted ghee.

Don’t forget to stir the syrup frequently.

When the syrup becomes thick like dosa batter and it will start leaving the sides of the vessel ….

Remove immediately and pour in the greased plate .

Using greased spoon or cup ( flat bottom cup ) level the cake , if needed.

When the cake is still warm,  start marking and press to have cuts as cubes or diamonds as per your wish.   This should be done quickly using greased sharp knife …  frequently spread ghee on knife while doing so , if needed so that the cake will not stick to the knife.  Now and then scratch and remove if any pieces sticks on the knife for a smooth finish on the cake.


After cutting lines on the cake….  Let it cool and come to the room temperature.

Now you can carefully remove cake pieces using spoon or knife.

Store it in the air tight box.

Enjoy the quick, easy and very tasty 7 cup cakes…..

·       You can replace carrots with grated Coconut or Beetroot.
