Gooseberry / Amla /
Nellikkai Rice
Raw Rice : 1/2 cup
Amla : 3 tbsp ( grated )
Carrot : 3 tbsp ( grated )
Green Chilly
: 2
Mustard : 1/4 tsp
Channa dal :
1/2 tsp
Curry leaves
: 1 arc
Coriander
leaves : 1 tbsp ( chopped )
Turmeric
powder : 2 pinches
Salt to
taste.
Hing powder
: 2 pinches
Til /
Gingelly oil : 3 tbsp
Cook rice
with 1 + 1/4 cup of water .
Spread it in
a broad vessel . Let it cool down.
Meanwhile heat
oil and temper with mustard seeds. When
it starts spluttering add channa dal . When the dal turns into golden brown ,
add chopped green chilly, curry leaves,
hing powder and saute it for few seconds .
Add grated carrot and amla and saute it for a couple of minutes . Finally add turmeric powder and salt and mix nicely
. Remove from fire and add the above
mixer to the rice and mix thoroughly .
Very healthy
and tasty Amla rice is ready to serve with Morkuzhambu or Aviyal.
