Green Gram Sprouts Kootu / Mulaikattiya Payaru Kootu




                                                        Green gram Kootu

Broad beans / Avaraikai  :  1 cup ( chopped )

Yellow dal / Moong dal : 1 tbsp

Sprouted Whole green gram dal :  2 tbsp

Green chilly : 1 or 2

Grated coconut  : 1 tbsp

Coriander leaves : 2 tbsp ( chopped )

Cumin seeds : ¼ tsp

Salt to taste

Sugar : ¼ tsp

Rice flour : ½ tsp

Temper :

Coconut Oil : 1 tsp

Mustard : ½ tsp

Black gram dal  / Urad dal : ½ tsp

            Soak Yellow dal for ½ an hour. 

Grind Coconut, coriander leaves, cumin seeds, green chilly  to a paste.

In a vessel, Mix ground paste, chopped veg , salt to taste, soaked yellow dal, green gram sprouts  , sugar, rice flour  with ½ a cup of water . 

Keep the vessel in Pressure cooker and cook for 3 whistles.

After opening mix nicely and temper with the given ingredients.

Serve hot with Rice  / Roti.

Note :

Green gram Sprouts :  Soak Whole green gram dal overnight in water.  Next day drain the water and keep the dal in hot pack for 10 to 12 hrs.  You can use it immediately or can store in fridge for later use.
