Vermicelli Upma / Semiya Upma






Vermicelli  /  Semiya  Upma

Vermicelli  :  1 cup

Green chilly : 1

Oil : 2 tbsp

Mustard : ½ tsp

Bengal gram : 1 tsp

Cashews : 4

Curry leaves : few

Salt to taste

Turmeric Powder : 2 pinches

Water : 1 cup

Onion : 1 (  chopped )

Capsicum : 1 tbsp ( chopped )

Carrot : 1 tbsp ( chopped )

 

       Dry fry Semiya  and keep it aside.

In oil temper with mustard seeds.  When it started spluttering , add Bengal gram .  Stir for few mts till Bengal gram change into golden brown.   

Add chopped chilly , onion , capsicum, carrot and curry leaves.

Stir fry till onion changes into golden in colour.

Add turmeric powder and just give a stir.

Add water and salt.  When it start to boil add dry fried Vermicelli .

Close the lid and cook in low flame for 5 mts.

Allow standing time of 10 to 15 mts.

Garnish with ghee fried cashews.

 

Serve hot with Sambar / Chutney.
