Black Channa Dal Sundal / Karuppu Kondakadalai Sundal





Black  Channa Dal  Sundal

 

Black  Channa  Dal  /  Karuppu Kondakadalai  :  1 cup

Red Chilly  :  2  ( broken )

Coconut  :  2 tbsp  ( grated )

Carrot  :  1 tbsp  ( grated  )  ( Optional )

Curry leaves  : few

Salt to taste

Hing  powder  :  1 pinch

Mustard seeds :  1 tsp

Coconut  Oil  :  1 tsp

 

                   Soak   Black  channa dal  overnight .    Adding water Cook for a whistle in a pressure pan.

Drain water and keep it aside.

In a pan heat oil and mustard seeds and allow it to splutter .   When it stops popping , add red chilly , curry leaves and  hing powder .  Stir for few mts till chilly change its colour lightly . 

Add Salt ,  channa dal and coconut and give a few stir just to coat everything nicely.  Remove from flame.

Garnish with grated carrot.

Simple yet healthy snack for all.
