Sweet Potato Doughnut



Sweet Potato Sweet Vadai / Doughnut

 

Sweet Potato : 200 grams

All purpose flour / Maida : 80 grams

Sugar : 200 grams

Vanilla essence : 2 drops

Butter or Ghee : 1 tsp

Baking Soda : 2 pinches

Badham or Pista powder  : 2 tsp

 

         

       Peel skin and Cook Sweet Potato .  

Mash nicely . Add Maida , Baking soda and ghee.

Shape them as Vadai  / Doughnut Shape . No need to mix water.

Heat oil and fry the Vadai in low flame , till the Vadai becomes golden in colour .
 
 

Meanwhile prepare sugar syrup.

Add sugar in a pan and add water just to immerse sugar and heat it … don’t keep stirring …  let it comes to one string consistency.

Dip a spoon or ladle and take a drop of sugar syrup from that and check for the consistency.   By pressing and pulling the syrup in-between the Thumb and Index finger, you will get one string …

This is the correct consistency.  

When Jamoons are fried and becomes golden in colour … dip in the sugar syrup.

Let the sugar syrup coat them nicely.

Let it sit in syrup for 10 to 15 minutes …. 

Remove and place on the rack or plate ….
 
 

Sprinkle Badham or Pista powder when the syrup is still warm. Let it comes to room temperature.
 
 

Sweet Potato Sweet Vadai is ready to serve.
