Rawa  Payasam  /  Sooji  Kheer



 Rawa Payasam /  Sooji  Kheer

 

Rawa / Sooji : 1/4 cup

Milk :  4 cups

Sugar :  3/4 cup

Ghee :  5 tsp

Cashews : 4 ( chopped )

Raisins : 6

Cardamom : 2 ( powder it )

Saffron :  2 or 3 threads.( crushed )

          In a pan , heat ghee and fry cashews till it becomes golden yellow . Keep it aside.  Add raisins and fry till it puffs up .  Keep it aside.

Now add rawa and roast it nicely till nice aroma comes and colour changes into golden brown. Keep it aside.

Heat milk .  When it comes to boiling point ,  lower the flame and add roasted rawa gradually , stirring continuously to avoid lumps .  Cook for 5 mts.  When the rawa gets cooked nicely , add sugar and cook till sugar melts completely .  Add cardamom,  Saffron and mix nicely and remove from flame.    

Garnish with Cashews and Raisins.
 

 

Very easy to prepare Rawa Payasam /  Sooji  Kheer is ready to serve.
