Coconut Chutney




Coconut  Chutney :

Grated coconut   :  4 tbsp 

Roasted gram  /  Pottu kadalai  /  Bhuna Chana  :   2 tbsp

Green chilly  :  2 or 3

Asafetida  /  Perungayam  /  Hing     :  1 pinch

Salt to taste.

Mustard  :  ¼ tsp

Black gram /   ulutham paruppu /  Urad dal  :  ¼ tsp

Oil : ½ tsp

            Grind nicely coconut, chilly and roasted gram to a fine paste.   Mix salt .

Temper in oil with mustard seeds , black gram and hing. 

Goes well with any Tiffin .


Variation : 

·        Replace roasted gram with roasted peanuts .

·        Replace roasted gram with roasted Bengal gram.

·        Replace Roasted gram with roasted Badham nuts  .

·        Replace Roasted gram with Melon seeds .

·        Add few tsp of finely chopped coriander leaves while grinding .

·        Add one garlic clove while grinding.

·        Can add few drops of lemon juice at the end.
