Idly Milagai Podi / Idly Chutney Powder


    Idly Chutney powder / Idly Milagai podi  is the best accomplishment for South Indian Tiffin , Idly / Dosa. 

    Mix Till oil generously with this Idly Powder and brush  on Idly /Dosa sufficiently .  Pack this for lunch box or picnic.   This will be the Healthy and  best food to have at any time.

    Though Sambar and Chutney goes well with Idly/ Dosa … Idly podi have its own yummy taste, no one can miss it.

    Next time when you travel,  don’t forget to pack some Idly Powder coated Idlies  ….. 
 
 
 

Idly Milagai podi

 
Black gram / Urad dal --  1 cup  ( 200 grams )
Bengal gram  / Chana dal --  1 handful
White Sesame seeds ( Till /Yellu ) --  1 ladle ( 20 grams )
Red chilly --  12
Hing --  1/2  tamarind seed size
Tamarind --  2 tamarind seed size

Sugar  --  1/2 tsp  

Salt to taste.
Method: 
Dry fry sesame seeds in Pan till it pops.  Keep it aside.
Dry fry Katti Perungayam ( you can also use readymade powder ) till it puffs ( Microwave for 1 mt ).  Keep it aside.
In pan add less oil and fry all the other ingredients except salt and sugar.  . 
Add Sugar and Salt as per taste.
Let it cool.
Grind everything together coarsely or finely as per your wish.
